This is kind of half guidelines half values, but it seems useful regardless. If you have suggestions of things to add please feel free to queue more commits into this PR :)

I agree with a few months, but I also don't think we should clearly define this (and if we do, I think it should first be in the RI which is a binding document, not this documentation page).
